every time I put my wii u sd card in my laptop I pray that it doesn't say "Failed to load sd:/wiiu/payload.elf"

    If you are useing a MicroSD to SD adapter then check if the MicroSD card it in the adapter all the way. That was a problem when I first homebrewed my Wii U.

    yeah but the problem is my windows 8 laptop randomly corrupts files everytime I use the sd card. it's basically russian roulette with my files. sometimes it's a wii homebrew app, sometimes it's the whole wiiu folder

    maybe try it with your phone if it has an microsd card slot? it would be annoying to always eject the sd card but it wouldnt corrupt your files probably

    Try what the other guy says if that don't work the check for a eject button on the OS. Also try a diffrent file browser that could be the problem. I doubt its the file browser though.
