Why do people beg for Nintendo to localize Mother 3? If they've refused to do so in the past 20 years, it's not like they're going to release it in the west for another 20 years!

Because it's the only MOTHER entry to not get an official English translation, and it would be nice to see Nintendo give the MOTHER series love. I don't care either way if it gets an official release, but there's your answer.
