part of me wishes i archived server packets from when NN was still alive for Wii Sports Club. i played it a lot and it sucks that it's gone now :'

is there difficulty with restoring wii sports club because of those missing packets?

when nintendo network was going to shut down, pretendo wanted people to launch games whilst also running a tool that captured your network traffic. this is so that way during development of new game servers, they'd know which endpoints need to be reconstructed and what data they return. as far as i know, a lot of people did it for mario kart 8, and even splatoon. but other games maybe not.

it also didn't help they wanted you to be pragmatic about the whole packet capture process anyway. which is probably why most people didn't do other games.
